Resistance to mechanically created sparking The Yale VS standard manual chain hoist is also available in a 'zinc shield' or 'spark resistant' specification. Zinc shield hoists are plated with a layer of zinc to provide superior resistance to corrosion. Typical applications are: food processing (e.g., dairy, abattoir, etc.) chemical industries (e.g., paper, dye industries), farming and water treatment. Spark resistant hoists offer resistance to mechanically created sparking from impact or abrasion. They are completely zinc plated, the top and bottom load hooks are bronze coated, the chain is stainless steel and the trolley, if required, has solid bronze wheels, gears and buffers.
Typical applications are: paint factories, paint shops, foundries, on/offshore refineries, oil depots, electroplating, automobile factories, on ships and docks, printers, textile and paper industries, food industries, glass and ceramic industries, wood working industries and hardening shops etc.
